Chiang Mai & Mobile Blog
Thursday, November 29th, 2007Tomorrow I’ll leave for Chiang Mai, hope to get some “บุญ” and lot of fun
Check out the weather there. Looks like I need to bring lots of coat.
Mobile Blog
Firstly I was worried that I will not be able to update my blog while in Chiang Mai. Now I find a software called MobiBlockr which runs on my PDA. It says it can post photo too. So I can keep updating my blog while in Chiang Mai. Looks like the fun is about to begin.

Now I’ve added OpenID to my blog. OpenID is a new concept of one login on multiple website similar to Windows Live ID or Google Account. One good thing that different from others is this is the open standard which anyone can use and implement to their website.
Now my blog reader can use their own OpenID to register and login. Thanks to WP-OpenID WordPress plugin.
More on OpenID can be found at their project web here. The recommend site to get an OpenID is from VeriSign here and it free.
Now let’s see who will the first who login using OpenID

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007Canon has release a new firmware 1.0.5 for EOS 40D DSLR which address the following issues:
- When playing back images just after recovering from Auto Power Off, the display now shows the last image played back.
- During remote shooting, images are now displayed on the camera’s LCD monitor right after they are taken.
- Corrects a warning message in Korean that appears when updating the firmware.
- Corrects errors in the Spanish menu screens.
- Corrects a phenomenon that prevented printing with some print systems.
- Corrects a rare phenomenon in which file numbers or image numbers were sometimes skipped.
The new firmware can be downloaded from Canon web site here
By the way, by upgrading to 40D, I have to give up infrared remote shutter. Now looking for the wireless remote shutter. If anyone has suggestion which one is good, please let me know.

Monday, November 19th, 2007Found this from a scuba diving web as they claim that it is a Singapore advertise on Anti Shark Fin soup on wedding reception. The graphic is quite terror but it is not less than the truth what’s happen to the shark. The fact is every year people die more from car accident than shark attack. I personally blame only one movie “Jaws” that make the shark such a bad creature and not deserve to live. According to the Sea Shepherd organization:
Over 7,257 tonnes of shark fins are processed each year — and 181,487 tonnes of shark carcasses are discarded at sea. It says 18 species are already listed as endangered by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.
“Every year humans slaughter over 100 million sharks yet we depict them as vicious and blood-thirsty killers,” the group asserts. “No more than 12 people a year are killed by sharks worldwide.”
For the photos, I could not find the bigger picture so I don’t know what is the writing on the banner. If anyone find a bigger photo, please let me know.

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007Dubai is an amazing country. They can do lot of things that others can’t. Such as…
70 A350s and 11 A380s in single order!!!
Emirates airline of Dubai has closed deal with Airbus for 70 A350 and 11 A380 which considered the largest airplane deal ever (probably not include military order which who know how much). Emirates has already ordered 55 A380 which is the largest order of A380.
The deal is a serious blow to Boeing, which inked a paltry $6.1bn deal with Qatar Airways for 30 787 Dreamliners and five 777 cargo aircraft. Emirates’ president Tim Clark said: “There was a recognition that we have to buy sooner rather than later. Boeing was not in a position to offer us the 787-10, which we wanted. Airbus had come up with a very good aeroplane at a very good price that hit the spot.”
World’s Largest Airport
Dubai, home of Emerates, is now building Dubai World Central International Airport – JXB, in which will be the largest airport when finish. The airport can handle 120-150 million passenger per year (MAP) compares to currently 55 MAP (really?) for Suvarnabhumi. The airport will have at least six 4.5 km runway capable of simultaneous A380 takeoff and landing, three passenger terminal with multiple concourses.
Become a TV drama series
Sunday, November 11th, 2007Talking about the post on Pantip.com about her (real?) Flight Attendant life on Thai Airways which easily be come the top hits. Later this become a book. Then not long after I post to my blog about these posts, now I heard that Exact has bought the right for making TV series called สงครามนางฟ้า (Flight Attendant’s war). Umm hopefully all the characters who may have exist will not sue the producer. If this is her real story, it would not hard to guess who is who, isn’t it?
And these are some of the actor/actress:
พี่หนิง — ป้อง ณวัฒน์
พี่อิน — ก้อง สหรัถ
ริน — บี น้ำทิพย์
หนุ่ย — หยวน ดราก้อนไฟว์
เชอร์รี่ — เป้ย ปานวาด
หนิม (ในเรื่องชื่อหน่อย) — ไอซ์ อภิสดา
คุณแม่พี่หนิง — ฮันนี่ ภัสสร

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007Seat and Meal
Seat and Meal are the most important element on the flight apart from the safety. These two web sites above provide some ‘insight’ information for each airlines.
