Google Android

Google’s Android is the mobile operating system made by Open Handset Alliance which is backed by Google and others 60+ companies.  Each version of Android has a name resemble a dessert.

• 1.5 (Cupcake) Based on Linux Kernel 2.6.27
• 1.6 (Donut) Based on Linux Kernel 2.6.29
• 2.0/2.1 (Eclair) Based on Linux Kernel 2.6.29

Google usually has plastic of the released Android version display at the yard in front of Android office.   Within several days, the new version was released.   Last week, there is a report that a new Frozen Yogurt sculpture display at the yard.

So we can expect Android 2.2 soon.
