ชาวประมงอวนลากในสเปน  ได้กล้องติดอวนขึนมาและพบว่ารูปถ่ายใน memory card ยังดีอยู่  โดยที่ในรูปยังเห็นเรือ Queen Elizabeth 2  ซึ่งเดินทางครั้งสุดท้ายเมื่อปี 2008

ไม่น่าเชื่อว่า memory card แช่อยู่ในน้ำเกลือเกือบ 2 ปียังใช้งานได้อยู่

แคนอนได้ประกาศกล้องรุ่นใหม่แล้วเป็น EOS 7D  หลังจากที่ออก EOS 5D MkII มาช๊อควงการเพราะมี HD VDO เป็นครั้งแรกและยังเป็นแบบ Full Frame ด้วย   ใครๆ ก็คิดว่ารุ่นอักษรตัวเดียวนี้คงจะเป็น FF ไปตลอด  จนกระทั่ง 7D ออกมา  เป็น 18MP EF-S แบบมี HD VDO

ดูไปดูมา feature หลายๆ อย่างของ 7D ดูจะดีกว่า 5D MkII โดยเฉพาะ 100% View finder นั้นอยากลองดูเหมือนกันว่าจะเป็นอย่างไร  แต่มีอย่างหนึ่งที่เป็นสิ่งที่ 7D ไม่มี คือ Full Frame  ซึ่งถือว่าเป็นจุดตัดสินสำหรับหลายๆ คน

Cameras: Canon EOS 50D Leaks on Canon China Site.

1. Fixes a phenomenon in which Image Stabilization operation emits a sound when certain buttons are pressed, with the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lens attached to the camera.
2. Fixes a phenomenon in which the Image Stabilization operation emits a sound from the lens when IS lenses are attached to the camera.
3. Fixes a phenomenon in which a part of the image looks unnatural when reviewed on the LCD.
4. Corrects errors in the Spanish and Norwegian menu screens.

โพลาลอยด์หลังจากที่กิจการย่ำแย่อยู่หลายปี ก็ประกาศว่าจะหยุดการผลิดกล้องและฟิล์มแบบนี้ทั้งหมดภายในปี 2009

Polaroid has decided to close down its factories in Massachusetts (USA), Mexico, and the Netherlands since they now plan to focus on other ventures such as portable printers for mobile phone images, Polaroid-branded digital cameras, digital cameras, televisions, and DVD players.
According to Tom Beaudoin, president, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer of Polaroid, they’ve decided to discontinue the making of instant film as they want to reinvent Polaroid so that it lives on for the next 30 to 40 years.

Incidentally, the first instant camera was introduced in 1948 in the US, but is now obsolete. The company stopped making these instant cameras about a year ago.

Meanwhile, the death of Polaroid’s instant photography technology hasn’t come as quite the shocker — at least for those familiar with digital cameras and postage-sized memory cards.

1. When playing back images just after recovering from Auto Power Off, the display now shows the last image played back.
2. During remote shooting, images are now displayed on the camera’s LCD monitor right after they are taken.

By the way, by upgrading to 40D, I have to give up infrared remote shutter.  Now looking for the wireless remote shutter.  If anyone has suggestion which one is good, please let me know.

ในที่สุดก็ไปถอย Canon 40D มาแทน 350D จนได้  รู้สึกว่ามันใหญ่โตกว่าเดิม  จับถนัดดี  มี pixel เพิ่ม (แต่ไม่ได้เป็นประเด็นสำคัญเท่าไหร่)  ต่อไปช่วงนี้คงต้องหาโอกาสไปถ่ายรูปเยอะหน่อย

ดูเหมือนว่า life cycle ของกล้อง digital ที่ใช้อยู่นี้ประมาณ 2 ปี  เพราะเดิมจาก 300D มาเป็น 350D  ก็ราวๆ  2 ปีเหมือนกัน  คงเป็นเพราะมันเป็น digital อะไรๆ ก็เลยเปลี่ยนเร็วเหมือนกับทางด้าน computer  เดิมกล้องฟิล์มกว่าจะเปลี่ยนรุ่นที  แทบจะลืมไปเลย
