ถ้ามีเวลาว่างจะลองเปลี่ยน layout ของ blog ให้เป็นสีเข้มขึ้น เพราะดูเหมือนว่าถ้า background สีเข้มแล้วรูปมันจะดูดีขึ้น ไม่รู้จริงหรือเปล่า?

Facebook เป็น social networking ที่ได้รับความนิยมมากในต่างประเทศ  แต่เมืองไทยจะไม่ค่อยดังซักเท่าไหร่  เพราะส่วนใหญ่คนไทยจะรู้จัก Hi5 ซะมากกว่า   แต่เจ้า Facebook นี้มีคนเป็นสมาชิกถึง 150 ล้านคนทั่วโลก

ปกติแล้วการ login เข้าเวปหลายๆ แห่งนั้นเรื่อง login และ password ก็เป็นปัญหาว่าจะจำกันไม่ไหว  และเดี๋ยวนี้ยิ่งมีผู้ไม่หวังดีทำ phishing ไว้คอยหลอกเอา login / password ไปอีก  ก็เลยมีความคิดเรื่อง OpenID ขึ้นมาที่จะมีหน่วยงานที่เชื่อถือได้ในการ authenticate  ทำให้จำแค่ login / password เฉพาะของ OpenID เท่านั้น  แต่ดูเหมือนว่าจะไม่ค่อยจะได้รับความนิยมเท่าที่ควร

จน Facebook ออก Facebook Connect มา  โดยให้ใช้ login / password ของ Facebook ในการเข้าเวปอื่นๆ ด้วย  และยังสามารถเอาข้อมูลที่เคยให้ไว้กับ Facebook มาใส่ในการลงทะเบียนได้ด้วย  พอเริ่มระบบนี้ขึ้นมาก็เท่ากับมีฐานผู้ใช้อีก 150 ล้านคนทันที

kanok.net/blog ก็ลองเอา Facebook Connect มาใช้ดู  ก็อยากจะรู้เหมือนกันว่าจะมีคนใช้ feature นี้เท่าไหร่   ถ้าใช้แล้วดีหรือไม่ดีอย่างไรก็บอกกันด้วยครับ

Note: ดูเหมือนว่าตอนนี้เจ้า Icon Facebook Connect บน IE ยังจะใช้งานไม่ได้  แต่บน Firefox นั้นเป็นปกติ  กำลังพยายามหาทางแก้อยู่  ดูเหมือนจะเป็น bug ของ plugin

Just want to let you know that Microsoft just release Live wave 3 or 3rd edition of Live suite.  Number of online application are included but the one most people know is Messenger.  The new one has Aero look and feel, also can login from multiple PCs.  The other is my favorite, Live Writer.   Let’s have a try.

Update 31-03-08:  Now WordPress 2.5 is officially released.    Kanok.net/blog has also upgraded to 2.5

I’ve added weather page to my blog. Thanks to AccuWeather.com who provide embedded code for my blog. This will provide the current temperature reading, 3 days outlook and temp map. Quite impressive, isn’t it!

I managed to change my blog style from 3 columns to 2 columns.  Should feel more comfortable.  Let me know what you think…

Now with new PHP v5.x and WP-OpenID 2.1.2, I can officially announce that my blog is now fully support OpenID.

To recap the OpenID the definition is…

OpenID is an open, decentralized, free framework for user-centric digital identity. OpenID takes advantage of already existing internet technology (URI, HTTP, SSL, Diffie-Hellman) and realizes that people are already creating identities for themselves whether it be at their blog, photostream, profile page, etc. With OpenID you can easily transform one of these existing URIs into an account which can be used at sites which support OpenID logins.

Sound too technical!!!  Let’s try this..

Now I’ve added OpenID to my blog. OpenID is a new concept of one login on multiple website similar to Windows Live ID or Google Account. One good thing that different from others is this is the open standard which anyone can use and implement to their website.

Now my blog reader can use their own OpenID to register and login. Thanks to WP-OpenID WordPress plugin.

One thing I like about WordPress is plugin support.  This allow almost infinite variety of custom plugin.  Now I have almost 10 running in my blog both on user side and admin side.  The newest one is the Post Rating that give user ability to rate the post.  The other one is Simple Tags that manage the posting tags.  Even though WordPress has built-in tag functionality, this is more manageable.

Now I have full feature tag management online, wish the WLW that I use to write the post has the same ability too.  I wonder are these plugins load my web server a lot?  May be I need to install another plugin to monitor it..
