ตอนนี้ไปที่ไหนๆ ก็มีแต่คนใช้ BlackBerry  หรือเรียกเท่ๆ ว่า BB  โดยที่ส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นเด็กวัยรุ่นซะส่วนใหญ่  ทำเอาฝรั่งผู้ผลิตงงเป็นไก่ตาแตกว่า  อุปกรณ์สื่อสารที่ออกแบบมาเพื่อให้นักธุรกิจใช้นั้น  ไหงเด็กวัยรุ่นไทยนิยมซะอย่างนั้น 

จุดเด่นของ BB ก็จะมีแต่เรื่องการ push mail ที่นักธุรกิจที่ต้องทำการติดต่อสื่อสารด้วย e-mail ตลอดเวลาจำเป็นต้องใช้  อีกอย่างก็น่าจะเป็น BBM หรือ BB Messanger  นอกเหนือจากนั้นดูแล้วก็ไม่น่าจะมีอะไรเด่นเกิน iPhone  จอก็ไม่ได้เป็น Touch screen  ขนาดจอก็เล็กกว่า iPhone เห็นๆ 

อีกอย่างที่น่าจะเป็นจุดที่ทำให้ BB ดังในเมืองไทยก็น่าจะเป็นการตลาดที่ให้ดารามาถือ BB แทน iPhone  เพราะหลังๆ  ใครๆ ก็มี iPhone กัน  ดังนั้น BB ก็เลยจะดูเหมือนเป็นจุดแตกต่างกว่าคนอื่นๆ

กระแสนี้คงจะยังอยู่ซักพัก  หลังจากนั้นคงต้องดูกันไปว่าอะไรจะขึ้นมาครองตำแหน่งนี้แทน BB

ช่วงนี้ Social Network application กำลังมาแรง  แต่พอไปหา  application  สำหรับ Windows Mobile กลับไม่มี   ที่เห็นส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นของ iPhone, Android  หรือไม่ก็ Blackberry  ไม่น่าเชื่อว่า Android เป็น platform น้องใหม่แต่มาแรงเหลือเกิน

ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Brightkite  หรือ Foursquare  ต่างก็มี iPhone กับ Android app เป็นหลัก  ยังดีที่ Twitter ยังมี application บน Windows Mobile  แต่ยังสู้ทางด้าน iPhone ไม่ได้

คงเป็นเพราะ WM นั้นดูเป็น platform ที่คนส่วนมากใช้ทางธุรกิจ  ส่วนทาง iPhone นั้นจะเป็นแฟชั่นกันมากกว่า  โดยเฉพาะทาง Android นั้นจะดูเหมือนจะเป็นพวก Geek สุดๆ

ฤา จะถึงเวลาย้ายค้ายแล้ว???

นิวซีแลนด์ได้แก้ไขกฎหมายโดยการห้ามคนขับรถใช้โทรศัพท์ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการรับสาย  โทรออก อ่าน SMS ส่ง SMS  รวมทั้งการดู GPS ด้วย

Under the new law, that would be illegal, Transport Ministry spokesman John Summers confirmed. "The Road User Amendment Rule 2009 means drivers will not be able to look at a navigation aid on a mobile phone when driving, even if it is mounted on the dashboard.

ที่น่าแปลกก็เพราะกฏหมายใหม่นี้ไม่ได้ห้ามการใช้ GPS ที่เป็น Standalone

ต่อไปใครเอามือถือที่มี GPS ติดอยู่ด้วยก็อย่าใช้งานบนรถนะครับ  เดี๋ยวจะโดนปรับหมดสนุกเปล่า?

Plaxo was starting with address book and calendar online synchronize.  It had a rough start that everyone consider its invitation was spam.  But later it proved itself that it was a good application and very useful.  I have used Plaxo to sync my calendar and address book for more than 4 years and also backup to Yahoo and Google calendar.  It also has ‘Premium’ feature with subscription cost.

Until recently, Plaxo decide to move the Outlook sync feature to ‘Premium’ service.  The subscription fee of $49.95 per year is quite steep for me to just sync the pda.  So I have to say goodbye to Plaxo.

Please let me know is there any good and workable alternative for this.  I’m sure that there are a lot of  former users of Plaxo would like to know as well.

For those who are not excite about new iPhone 3GS, try this phone!

Don’t know any phone can be this stronger?  Withstand elephant stomp, run over by a Land Rover, dunked in mud, put inside a 300 degree oven, and soaked in beer.  And the finale crushed by three ton forklift.  These all Sonim/Land Rover S1 can withstand,  the rest should be ok for our normal use, right?

By the way it has ‘extra loud’ ringtone so you can find it under elephants.

หลังจากต้นสัปดาห์ที่แล้วที่ Apple ได้เปิดตัว iPhone 3GS ที่มีคุณสมบัติเพิ่มขึ้นหลายประการ  และได้ขายอย่างเป็นทางการใน US เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ผ่านมา  แต่สิ่งหนึ่งที่หลายคนอยากจะได้ยินในงาน WWDC ก็คือ Steve Jobs จะกลับมาเมื่อไหร่  ล่าสุดได้มีข่าวจาก Wallstreet Journal ว่าหลังจาก Steve Jobs ได้รับการเปลี่ยน (transplant) ตับไปเมื่อสองเดือนก่อน  เขาจะกลับมาภายในเดือนนี้  ลองดูนะครับว่าจะจริงอย่างที่ลือกันหรือเปล่า

WWDC ปีนี้หลายคนจับตามองว่า Steve Jobs จะกลับมาหรือไม่  หลังจากที่ลาพักรักษาตัวมาตั้งแต่ต้นปี

ส่วนทางด้านผลิตภัณฑ์ใหม่  ก็มีการเล็งว่า Mac OS X – Snow Leopard น่าจะออกมาได้แล้ว  ส่วน iPhone ตัวใหม่ (32 GB) และ MacBook ใหม่  ก็น่าจะมีการเปิดตัวในงานนี้ด้วยเช่นกัน

Today (Mar 17) Apple will launch iPhone OS 3.0 SDK.  The SDK or Software Development Toolkit which will be used by developer to write software to run on new OS when it lunch.   But no body knows what will be in it.  Many site speculate the new features are:

• Copy, Cut & Paste
• Multitasking
• MMS (every one wants this)
• FULL Bluetooth support
• VDO capture
• Turn-by-Turn GPS navigation

Let’s see how many will come true.

Just heard from the news that Iridium Satellite collided with defunct Russian Cosmos satellite creates huge cloud and some 600 space debris.

It is quite a rare event that 2 satellites collided in orbit especially one is the operational US satellite.   Communication relay satellite, Cosmos 2251 which was lunched in 1993 and was out of service more than 10 years while Iridium Satellite provides mobile telephone service globally.

I personally feel this story interesting since my work at Iridium Southeast Asia some time before Iridium LLC went Chapter 7 in 2000.  Then all the asset including satellite constallation were sold to Iridium Satellite LLC with the value about 10% of the original cost.  With its rebranding, the new Iridium service is quite success.

คนอังกฤษคนหนึ่งซื้อ iPhone 3G กลับมาแต่พบว่าใน iPhone มีรูปสาวน้อยคนหนึ่งใสชุด line การผลิตยิ้มให้กล้องอยู่แล้ว  กลายเป็นว่าพนักงานของ FoxConn ที่ Apple สั่ง iPhone  ได้ลองถ่ายรูปเล่นแต่ลืมลบออกก่อนที่จะใส่ลงกล่องและส่งไปยังอังกฤษ  ตอนนี้สาวคนนี้ทีรู้กันว่า “iPhone Girl”  ยังคงทำงานอยู่ในโรงงานที่เสินเจินและยังไม่โดนไล่ออก

จะดีไหมต่อไปแทนที่จะมีกระดาษบอกว่า Inspect by No.6  แต่มีรูปคนที่ inspect แทน
