I’ve successfully upgrade my blog software to Wordpress 2.6.   What’s new and improvement can be found at www.wordpress.org or if you have 3 minutes and 29 seconds spare time, you can watch the video below.

Microsoft has released the latest and final service pack for the old and faithful Windows XP. The Service Pack 3 or SP3 is intended to be a collection of previously-released fixes and product enhancements, as well as a few new features that are unique to this release.

When talking about “new” feature for SP3, do not expect a dramatic feature. That what Vista is here for. See the list and you will know.

Network Access Protection compatibility. Announced years ago, this feature allows Windows XP machines to interact with the NAP feature in Windows Server 2008. This functionality is built into the RTM version of Windows Vista as well.

Product Key-less install option. As with Windows Vista, new XP with SP3 installs can proceed without entering a product key during Setup.

Kernel Mode Cryptographics Module. A new kernel module that “encapsulates several different cryptographic algorithms,” according to Microsoft.

“Black hole” router detection algorithm. XP gains the ability to ignore network routers that incorrectly drop certain kinds of network packets. This, too, is a feature of Windows Vista.

You can download the full SP3 from Microsoft from this link directly. The whole thing is 316 MB, so a high speed Internet is needed.

Update 31-03-08:  Now WordPress 2.5 is officially released.    Kanok.net/blog has also upgraded to 2.5

Just a quick notice that WP has release version 2.3.3, a security release.  Learn more from this release at Wordpress blog.

WordPress 2.3.3 is an urgent security release. If you have registration enabled a flaw was found in the XML-RPC implementation such that a specially crafted request would allow a user to edit posts of other users on that blog. In addition to fixing this security flaw, 2.3.3 fixes a few minor bugs.

Ha ha. The Photo page breaks again after I upgrade the plug-in to the new version. This one use database to keep cache instead of files. May take sometime before I have time to look at it. Anyway, all of my photo still there at my Flickr page

WordPress  software ตัวเก่งของผมที่ใช้ทำ blog อยู่ขณะนี้  ออกรุ่นใหม่คือ 2.3.1  ซึ่งทาง blog development แจ้งมาว่ามีการ update หรือ bug fix อยู่กว่า 20 รายการ  ที่สำคัญๆ คือการแก้ bug ของ Windows Live Writer ด้วย  ก็หวังว่าคงไม่ทำให้ blog เล็กๆ อย่างนี้ต้องเดี้ยง เพราะ version ไม่ compatable นะ

ในที่สุดก็ไปถอย Canon 40D มาแทน 350D จนได้  รู้สึกว่ามันใหญ่โตกว่าเดิม  จับถนัดดี  มี pixel เพิ่ม (แต่ไม่ได้เป็นประเด็นสำคัญเท่าไหร่)  ต่อไปช่วงนี้คงต้องหาโอกาสไปถ่ายรูปเยอะหน่อย

ดูเหมือนว่า life cycle ของกล้อง digital ที่ใช้อยู่นี้ประมาณ 2 ปี  เพราะเดิมจาก 300D มาเป็น 350D  ก็ราวๆ  2 ปีเหมือนกัน  คงเป็นเพราะมันเป็น digital อะไรๆ ก็เลยเปลี่ยนเร็วเหมือนกับทางด้าน computer  เดิมกล้องฟิล์มกว่าจะเปลี่ยนรุ่นที  แทบจะลืมไปเลย

After upgrading to WP 2.3, Flickr page seems to have lots of problems. Or may be it already has got problem before the upgrade but I didn’t notice. Any way, now weather page has to wait and all effort is on fixing photo page. Sorry

I start this blog less than a week. Haven’t announced to the public yet. Now I upgrade the blog software already.

Almost next day after I start the blog, WordPress releases a new version. This version 2.3 improves many feature but the one I decide to upgrade is Tag support.

Let’s see what brakes by this upgrade..
