TweetDeck–Dead Golden Chicken

Twitter Client ที่ดังมากตัวหนึ่งคือ TweetDeck ซึ่งถือว่าใช่ง่ายและสร้างบน Adobe Air ทำให้สามารถใช้ได้ทั้ง Window, Unix, Mac   และนอกจากจะเชื่อมกับ Twitter แล้วยังสามารถเชื่อมกับ Facebook, Foursquare และ Tumblr ได้อีกด้วย

แต่แล้ว Twitter ก็ซื้อ TweetDeck ไปด้วยราคา 23 ล้านเหรียญ  หลายๆ คนก็มองว่าเป็นโอกาสที่ดีที่ Twitter เองจะมี Native Client ที่ใช้งานง่ายอีกตัว และเป็นการกัน Uber Media ที่ซื้อ Client ดีๆ หลายๆ ดัวเข้ามา ทำให้ user ของ Twitter เกือบครึ่งใช้ client ที่ Uber เป็นผู้พัฒนา  ว่าง่ายๆ ก็เป็นเกมส์ชิง user กัน

แต่แล้ว Twitter ออก TweetDeck ตัวใหม่ที่เป็น Native Windows app  และเลิกใช้ Air  แถมไม่รองรับ Foursquare และ Tumblr อีกต่อไป  ตัว App เองก็ใช้ยากและไม่ stable อีก  หลายๆ คนลองใช้แล้วก็หา version Air กลับมาใช้ต่อไป

เป็นเรื่องหน้าเศร้าที่บริษัทหนึ่งซื้อ app ดีๆ ไปแล้วทำให้มันตาย

The Oracle Says – BUY SUN!

ในที่สุดหลังจากที่เป็นข่าวเมื่อต้นเดือนเมษายน (กับอีกเจ้า)  ในที่สุด Sun ก็ประกาศว่าบริษัท Oracle ยักษ์ใหญ่ทางด้าน Database และ application จะซื้อกิจการของ Sun Microsystems  ในราคา 7.4 พันล้านเหรียญ

เดิมเมื่อต้นเดือนก็มีข่าวทำนองนี้แต่ผู้ซื้อเป็นยักษ์ใหญ่สีน้ำเงิน IBM  แต่สุดท้าย deal ล้มไปด้วยราคาที่ต่างกับ Oracle เพียง 10 เซ็นต์  ไม่รู้ว่า IBM จะเสียใจหรือโล่งใจกันแน่

Google buys Jaiku

In the world of Web 2.0 where the Internet is where user generated content rules, many micro blogs born and die.  One of the site that I often is Jaiku where I can just post a short word such as what I’m doing, how do I feel now.  I can do this from the web, SMS or even Symbian client (Nokia N73).  This kind of popular now and there are many site that do this.

Jaiku is a project from 2 Finn and now gains momentum and popularity enough to attract attention from Google.  Let’s see how Google will do with Jaiku.  We may see the Jaiku client to be included in the rumored gPhone?
