Instagram – What are you doing?

ใครๆ ก็รู้ว่า Instagram เป็น App ถ่ายภาพที่ได้ภาพออกมาสวย  และสามารถ post ไปอวดคนอื่นๆ ได้แบบไม่อายใคร  อีกทั้งมีดาราทั้งไทยและเทศ post รูปต่างๆ ให้ follower ได้ติดตามอย่างมาก  เมษาที่ผ่านมา Instagram โดน Facebook ซื้อไปด้วยราคา 1000 ล้านเหรียญ  และอีกไม่นานก็ออก app บน Android ซึ่งเดิมชาว iOS ภูมิใจนักหนากับ App ตัวนี้

วันนี้ทาง Instagram ได้ออก update Term of Service ใหม่  http://instagram.com/about/legal/terms/updated/  ซึ่งทำให้เกิดเสียงวิจารณ์ว่าด้วย TOS อันนี้ Instagram สามารถนำรูปของเราไปขายต่อให้คนอื่นได้  โดยที่ไม่ต้องจ่ายค่า license ให้กับเราซักบาทเดียว

1. Instagram does not claim ownership of any Content that you post on or through the Service. Instead, you hereby grant to Instagram a non-exclusive, fully paid and royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license to use the Content that you post on or through the Service, except that you can control who can view certain of your Content and activities on the Service as described in the Service’s Privacy Policy, available here: http://instagram.com/legal/privacy/.

2. Some or all of the Service may be supported by advertising revenue. มาดูกันว่าก่อนวันที่ 16 ม.ค. ที่ TOS นี้จะมีผล  ผู้ใช้ทั่วโลกจะมีปฏิกิริยาอะไรกับ TOS อันนี้บ้าง

รูปถ่ายสมัยปี 1940 ในพิพิธภัณฑ์แคนาดาธรรมดารูปหนึ่ง  แต่พอดูไปดีๆ จะสังเกตชายคนหนึ่งใส่แว่นดำ แต่งกายผิดยุค ผิดสมัยกับคนอื่นทั้งหมด

หรือว่าชายคนนั้นจะเป็น “นักเดินทางกาลเวลา” ย้อนกลับมาท่องเที่ยวในอดีตและถูกถ่ายภาพเอาไว้ได้

All Good Things Must Come to An End

kodachrome-copy เป็นข่าวเศร้าในวงการถ่ายภาพอีกข่าวหนึ่งก็คือ  Kodak ได้ประกาศเลิกการผลิตฟิล์ม Kodachrome หลังจากที่ยอดขายลดลงอย่างต่อเนื่อง  เพราะช่างภาพหันไปหาฟิล์มชนิดอื่น  หรือไปใช้กล้องดิจิตอลแทน  นับเป็นการสิ้นสุดสายการผลิตฟิล์มในตำนานของวงการถ่ายภาพที่ยืนยาวมาถึง 74 ปี

KODACHROME Film is an iconic product and a testament to Kodak’s long and continuing leadership in imaging technology,” said Mary Jane Hellyar, President of Kodak’s Film, Photofinishing and Entertainment Group. “It was certainly a difficult decision to retire it, given its rich history. However, the majority of today’s photographers have voiced their preference to capture images with newer technology – both film and digital. Kodak remains committed to providing the highest-performing products – both film and digital – to meet those needs.

ทาง Kodak จะยังคงขายฟิล์มที่อยู่ใน stock จนกว่าจะหมด  และจะบริจาคฟิล์มม้วนสุดท้ายให้กับ George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film ซึ่งจะถือว่าเป็นการปิดตำนานโดยสมบูรณ์

Seventeen Mag = Plagiarism –> Shame on You

เร็วๆ นี้มีกระทู้หนึ่งใน Pantip.com ที่เจ้าของรูปถ่ายออกมาถามหาความรับผิดชอบของนิตยสาร Seventeen ที่นำรูปไปลงโดยไม่บอกกล่าว  แถมยังนั่งเทียนเขียนเรื่องราวสัมภาษณ์ทั้งๆ ที่ไม่ได้ติดต่อทั้งช่างภาพและนางแบบเลย ในที่สุดทางหนังสือก็ออกมาแสดงความรับผิดชอบ  หลังจากที่เรื่องราวกลายเป็น fwd mail และกระแสข่าวนี้ก็ไปยังเวปบอร์ดอื่นๆ  ไม่นับ e-mail ที่ post กลับไปบริษัทแม่ในต่างประเทศอีก  และไม่รู้เจ้าของผลิดภัณฑ์ที่ถูก comment ทางลบจะว่าอย่างไรอีก  ลองไปอ่านได้จากกระทู้นี้ครับ

ถึงแม้ว่าเรื่องนี้ทางคนเขียนคอลัมภ์จะได้รับผลของการกระทำไปเรียบร้อยแล้ว  ผมคิดว่าเรื่องนี้คงจะไม่ใช้เรื่องสุดท้ายที่เราจะได้ยินเรื่องการนำทรัพย์สินทางปัญญามาใช้โดยไม่ให้เครติดแก่เจ้าของ  ในต่างประเทศจะถึอเรื่องนี้มาก  ถึงกับฟ้องร้องกันเป็นแสนเป็นล้าน  เพราะเขาถือว่าความคิดสร้างสรรค์นั้นเป็นสมบัติของผู้คิด   แต่บ้านเราถือว่า “จับไม่ได้  ก็รอดไป”   อยากให้ผู้ใหญ่บ้านเราตื่นตัวเรื่องนี้ให้มากขึ้นด้วย

2 Concerts 2 Feeling

ได้ไปดูคอนเสิร์ทติดๆ กันสองอาทิตย์  งานแรกเป็นแบบเบิร์ด เบิร์ด Magic Memories – Encore Plus 

งานนี้ถ้าไม่บอก ก็ไม่รู้เลยว่าพี่ (ป้า) เบิร์ดของเรานั้นอายุ 50 แล้ว  แต่ยังร้อง เต้น แบบสุดใจขาดดิ้นเหมือนเดิม  บรรยากาศของคนไปดูก็สนุกสนาน  มีป้ายไฟ  หลอด LED เต็มไปหมด  แถมทางผู้จัดเองก็แจกไป LED สีฟ้าสดใสให้กับทุกคนไปร่วมสนุกด้วย

งานนี้ได้ยินมาตั้งแต่ครั้งแรกที่จัดเมื่อกลางปีแล้วว่าทางผู้จัดห้ามกล้อง VDO อย่างเดียว  ส่วนกล้องถ่ายภาพไม่ห้าม  เลยได้มีรูปสวยๆ ออกมา post บนเนทให้คนอื่นๆ ได้ดูกัน

ส่วนอีกงานเป็นคอนเสิร์ทขอบคุณลูกค้าไทยพาณิชย์  เป็นงานที่รู้ตัวล่วงหน้าว่าจะได้ดูประมาณ 90 นาทีก่อนงานเริ่ม  แต่ยังไงก็ต้องขอบใจน้องแพรวและซิดนีย์ที่เอาตั๋วมาให้

งานคอนเสิร์ทอัสนี-วสันต์ปกติแล้วบรรยากาศก็ต้องเป็นขาร๊อค เสื้อยืด กางเกงยีนส์  ตอนแรกก็หวั่นๆ ว่างานนี้ลูกค้าของ SCB จะเป็นอย่างไร  แต่ก็ถือว่าอัสนี-วสันต์ยังมีมนต์อยู่  ทำให้คุณอา คุณป้า ลุกมาเต้นกับเพลงบังเอิญได้  ถึงแม้ว่าตัว script จะคล้ายๆ กับงานที่เคยเล่นมาก่อนแล้วแต่ก็ยังมีความสนุกสุดๆ อยู่

แต่งานนี้อนุญาติให้เฉพาะกล้อง compact เท่านั้น ส่วนกล้อง DSLR ที่ผู้จัดเรียกว่ากล้อง “มืออาชีพ” นั้น  หมดสิทธิ์  เลยมีแต่รูปจากกล้องมือถือ ASUS 525 มาฝาก

One Day with Whale Shark

ไปดำน้ำที่ทะเลชุมพรกับเรือชุมพรคาบานา MV1  ก๊วนที่ไปกันก็มี หนุ่ย จุ๋ม เอก และหมอฝน  ทริปนี้ถึงแม้น้ำจะไม่ใสปิ๊งแต่ก็มีของดีหลายๆ อย่างเช่น Bull Shark ฉลามหูดำ ที่หินกองชุมพร  และที่สุดยอดของทริปนี้ก็คือฉลามวาฬ ยักษ์ใหญ่ใจดีที่หินใบที่ดูเหมือนว่าปีนี้จะเจอกันบ่อย

ตอนแรกดูพยากรณ์อากาศก็ยังหวั่นๆ อยู่  แต่พอออกเรือจริงๆ แล้วกลับกลายว่าไม่มีฝน  แถมแดดดีซะอีก  ทำเอาตัวดำกลับมา

Another RIP – Instant Camera

คนที่ถ่ายรูปสมัยก่อนคงจำกันได้ถึงกล้องโพลาลอยด์ ที่สามารถเห็นรูปได้ทันทีหลังจากที่ถ่าย  สมัยนี้คงไม่เป็นที่น่าแปลกใจเท่าไหร่เพราะกล้องดิจิตอลก็ทำได้ทั้งนั้น  แต่เมื่อ 50 ปีที่แล้วนั้นเหมือนจะเป็นเรื่องมหัศจรรย์

โพลาลอยด์หลังจากที่กิจการย่ำแย่อยู่หลายปี ก็ประกาศว่าจะหยุดการผลิดกล้องและฟิล์มแบบนี้ทั้งหมดภายในปี 2009

Polaroid has decided to close down its factories in Massachusetts (USA), Mexico, and the Netherlands since they now plan to focus on other ventures such as portable printers for mobile phone images, Polaroid-branded digital cameras, digital cameras, televisions, and DVD players.
According to Tom Beaudoin, president, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer of Polaroid, they’ve decided to discontinue the making of instant film as they want to reinvent Polaroid so that it lives on for the next 30 to 40 years.

Incidentally, the first instant camera was introduced in 1948 in the US, but is now obsolete. The company stopped making these instant cameras about a year ago.

Meanwhile, the death of Polaroid’s instant photography technology hasn’t come as quite the shocker — at least for those familiar with digital cameras and postage-sized memory cards.
