วันนี้ Google เปลี่ยน Doodle เป็น theme Star Trek เพื่อฉลองครบรอบ 46 ปีของ series ในตำนาน
Star Trek มี series ต่อมาอีกหลายชุดตั้งแต่ The Next Generation ที่มีกัปตันพิคาร์ด มาเป็น Deep Space Nine ต่อด้วย Voyager ซึ่งเป็นครั้งแรกที่ผู้บังคับยานเป็นผู้หญิง และ Enterprise ซึ่งถือว่าเป็น franchise ที่ดำเนินต่อมายาวมาก
Star Trek ไม่ได้เป็นเฉพาะ series บันเทิงเพียงอย่างเดียว นักบินอวกาศหลายคนได้แรงบันดาลใจให้อยากออกไปท่องจักรวาลก็เพราะเขาดู Star Trek ในตอนเด็ก
