Dubai is an amazing country. They can do lot of things that others can’t. Such as…
70 A350s and 11 A380s in single order!!!
Emirates airline of Dubai has closed deal with Airbus for 70 A350 and 11 A380 which considered the largest airplane deal ever (probably not include military order which who know how much). Emirates has already ordered 55 A380 which is the largest order of A380.
The deal is a serious blow to Boeing, which inked a paltry $6.1bn deal with Qatar Airways for 30 787 Dreamliners and five 777 cargo aircraft. Emirates’ president Tim Clark said: “There was a recognition that we have to buy sooner rather than later. Boeing was not in a position to offer us the 787-10, which we wanted. Airbus had come up with a very good aeroplane at a very good price that hit the spot.”
World’s Largest Airport
Dubai, home of Emerates, is now building Dubai World Central International Airport – JXB, in which will be the largest airport when finish. The airport can handle 120-150 million passenger per year (MAP) compares to currently 55 MAP (really?) for Suvarnabhumi. The airport will have at least six 4.5 km runway capable of simultaneous A380 takeoff and landing, three passenger terminal with multiple concourses.
Talking about the post on Pantip.com about her (real?) Flight Attendant life on Thai Airways which easily be come the top hits. Later this become a book. Then not long after I post to my blog about these posts, now I heard that Exact has bought the right for making TV series called สงครามนางฟ้า (Flight Attendant’s war). Umm hopefully all the characters who may have exist will not sue the producer. If this is her real story, it would not hard to guess who is who, isn’t it?
Seat and Meal are the most important element on the flight apart from the safety. These two web sites above provide some ‘insight’ information for each airlines.
These Qantas advertise series spans several years. I watch the first one when I study over there. After the big success, couple follows. All of them still capture my heart.
Got the story from Duncans.tv The full history of this advertise can be read from here. The song itself was written by Peter Allen which more can find in Wikipedia.
The Qantas campaign, I Still Call Australia Home, is one of the frontrunners for the top Australian television campaigns of all time. Running from 1997 through to 2004, the campaign has linked together Australians living at home with those traveling or living overseas. Beginning with a range of Australian musicians, the campaign has come to be associated with the Australian Girls Choir and National Boys Choir.
The campaign began in 1997 with a three-minute commercial featuring trumpeter James Morrison, Kate Ceberano, James Blundell and other popular singers singing Peter Allens song, I still call Australia home. In the background are scenes from around the world and Australia. The shot finishes with a Boeing 747 and the words, QANTAS The Australian Airline.
Lyrics for I Still Call Australia Home
Note that the original lyric has Rio rather than Rome. However Qantas doesnt fly to Rio.
Ive been to cities that never close down from New York to Rome and old London town, but no matter how far or how wide I roam I still call Australia home.
Im always traveling, I love being free, and so I keep leaving the sun and the sea, but my heart lies waiting over the foam. I still call Australia home.
All the sons and daughters spinning round the world, away from their family and friends, but as the world gets older and colder, its good to know where your journey ends.
But someday well all be together once more when all of the ships come back to the shore. Then I realise something Ive always known. I still call Australia home.
