Instagram เป็น app ถ่ายภาพและโพสรูปขึ้นไปบน Internet ที่นิยมมาก ที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ก็คือ app ตัวนี้มีแต่บน iOS ทำให้ผู้ใช้จำกัดอยู่แต่กลุ่มของผู้ใช้ iPhone iPad iPod ที่รู้กันว่า….

จนมาสัปดาห์ที่แล้ว Instagram ออก app บน Android ทำให้มีผู้ใช้อีกกลุ่มหนึ่งที่รอคอยอยู่นานแสนนานเข้ามา มีรูปจากAndroid เข้ามามากมาย

แล้ว drama ก็เกิด!

ผู้ใช้งานบน iOS ส่วนหนึ่งรู้สึกว่าการที่ไม่ได้เป็น exclusive for iOS อีกต่อไปทำให้ app ตัวนี้เสียเอกลักษณ์ไป รูปที่มาจาก Android ไม่มีคุณภาพบ้าง และลามไปเป็นสงครามระหว่าง Android กับ iOS ในที่สุด เป็นกันทั้งในเมืองไทยและเมืองนอก

ล่าสุดเช้านี้ทาง Facebook ประกาศว่าได้ซื้อ Instagram ในราคา 1000ล้านเหรียญ ทำเอาแฟนๆ Instagram บางคนประกาศเลิกใช้ไปเลย

อะไรมันจะขนาดนี้ ถ้าออก Windows Phone 7 กับ Symbian มามิฆ่าตัวตายเลยหรือ?

Firefox 8 ออกมาให้แฟนๆ download มาใช้งานกันได้แล้ว ด้วยหลักการในการออก major release ใหม่อย่ารวดเร็ว ทำให้ version ตาม Google Chrome เข้าใกล้ขึ้นเรื่อยๆ ภายในปีหน้าคงไล่กันทัน

Apple OS X Lion–Available where?

Operating System หรือ OS ถือว่าเป็นหัวใจของคอมพิวเตอร์ทุกเครื่อง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเครื่องระดับ mainframe หรือลงไปถึง smart phone  เครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์นั้นจะประสพความสำเร็จหรือไม่ส่วนหนึ่งก็อยู่ที่ OS นี้ด้วย

Mac OS ถือว่าเป็น OS ชั้นแนวหน้าของวงการตัวหนึ่ง  หลายๆ คนอาจจะไม่รู้ว่าเจ้า OS ตัวนี้พื้นฐานมาจาก BSD Unix ที่มีจุดเด่นในด้านความเสถียร  โดยที่ Apple ได้ออก Mac OS รุ่นต่างๆ ที่ดีขึ้นเรื่อยๆ  โดยที่แต่ละรุ่นจะทำให้เครื่อง Mac ที่มีอยู่ทำงานได้เร็วขึ้น  ผิดกับอีกค่ายที่เมื่อออก OS รุ่นใหม่ก็แทบจะต้องเปลียน PC กัน  และ Mac OS จะมีแค่รุ่นเดียว  ไม่มี Home Premium, Ultimate, Professional ให้วุ่นวาย

Mac OS รุ่นล่าสุดที่ออกมากลางสัปดาห์นี้เป็น version 10.7  ชื่อว่า Lion ซึ่งมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงการหาซื้อมา upgrade คือเปลี่ยนเป็นการ online download เท่านั้น  ไม่ขายเป็น DVD เหมือนก่อนแล้ว  สำหรับทาง US ที่ Internet ตามบ้านเร็วและแรงจริงก็คงไม่มีปัญหา   แต่สำหรับคนไทยที่ Internet เหมือนกับแอบใช้  การ download ไฟล์ขนาด 3.7GB ก็คงหนักหนาอยู่ไม่น้อย

In September 1956 IBM launched the 305 RAMAC, the first computer with a hard disk drive (HDD).  The HDD weighed over a ton and stored 5 MB of data.

Currie Munce, research vice president for Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (which has acquired IBM’s hard disk drive business), stated in a Wall Street Journal interview[5] that the RAMAC unit weighed over a ton, had to be moved around with forklifts, and was delivered via large cargo airplanes. According to Munce, the storage capacity of the drive could have been increased beyond five megabytes, but IBM’s marketing department at that time was against a larger capacity drive, because they didn’t know how to sell a product with more storage.

เตรียมพร้อมกับ USB 3.0 แล้วหรือยัง??  ตอนนี้เริ่มมีอุปกรณ์และการ์ดออกมาแล้ว  อย่างเช่น ASUS USB 3.0 PCI-E  ที่ราคาแค่ $30

ส่วนใครที่จะซื้อบอร์ดใหม่ตอนนี้ ASUS ก็เริ่มมีบอร์ดที่มี USB 3.0 ให้มาเลยเช่นตัวนี้

ส่วนกล่อง External HDD ที่ใช้ USB 3.0 ก็เริ่มมีให้เห็นกันแล้ว   จากนั้นก็คงต้องมาดูว่าความเร็วขนาดนี้เวลาใช่ต่อกับ External HDD แล้วมันเทียบกับ eSATA ได้หรือไม่

NASA และ Microsoft ได้ร่วมกันทำแบบการมองเห็นของยานลำต่อไปที่จะไปดาวอังคารที่ชื่อว่า Curiosity  โดย Microsoft ใช้เทคโนโลยี Silverlight ที่เป็นคู่แข่งของ Flash มาใช้งาน  โดยที่เราสามารถ pan มุมมองได้แบบ 3 มิติ

WiFi-N Now it’s official

ในที่สุดร่างมาตรฐาน WiFi ความเร็วสูง 802.11n  ก็ได้รับรองจากสถาบัน IEEE ให้เป็นมาตรฐานซะที  หลังจากที่แก้ไขปรับปรุงกันอยู่ถึง 7 ปี  แต่ยังไงก็ตามผู้ใช้และผู้ผลิตอุปกรณ์ส่วนใหญ่ยังใช้ 802.11g  หรือที่รู้จักกันว่า Wireless G กันอยู่   จะมีอยู่บ้างเช่น Apple ที่ใช้ draft N ในอุปกรณ์ของตัวเองมาพักใหญ่แล้ว

คงต้องดูกันว่ามาตรฐาน Wireless N ที่มีความเร็วสูงสุดถึง 300Mbps นี้จะได้รับการยอมรับเพิ่มขึ้นหรือไม่  หรือจะมองข้ามไปที่มาตรฐานต่อไปเลย

Goodbye Plaxo

Plaxo was starting with address book and calendar online synchronize.  It had a rough start that everyone consider its invitation was spam.  But later it proved itself that it was a good application and very useful.  I have used Plaxo to sync my calendar and address book for more than 4 years and also backup to Yahoo and Google calendar.  It also has ‘Premium’ feature with subscription cost.

Until recently, Plaxo decide to move the Outlook sync feature to ‘Premium’ service.  The subscription fee of $49.95 per year is quite steep for me to just sync the pda.  So I have to say goodbye to Plaxo.

Please let me know is there any good and workable alternative for this.  I’m sure that there are a lot of  former users of Plaxo would like to know as well.

Return of the Jedi

picture-42 หลังจากต้นสัปดาห์ที่แล้วที่ Apple ได้เปิดตัว iPhone 3GS ที่มีคุณสมบัติเพิ่มขึ้นหลายประการ  และได้ขายอย่างเป็นทางการใน US เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ผ่านมา  แต่สิ่งหนึ่งที่หลายคนอยากจะได้ยินในงาน WWDC ก็คือ Steve Jobs จะกลับมาเมื่อไหร่  ล่าสุดได้มีข่าวจาก Wallstreet Journal ว่าหลังจาก Steve Jobs ได้รับการเปลี่ยน (transplant) ตับไปเมื่อสองเดือนก่อน  เขาจะกลับมาภายในเดือนนี้  ลองดูนะครับว่าจะจริงอย่างที่ลือกันหรือเปล่า
